The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary/agency team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To deliver comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy services to clients with a variety of communication difficulties and/or eating/drinking/swallowing difficulties.
This service will be delivered in a variety of settings.
The post holder is expected to develop relevant clinical skills, knowledge and experience without direct supervision.
Duties and location may vary depending on the client group/aspect and demands of the service/level of experience.

What we'll need you to bring
- Degree in speech and language pathology or equivalent
- Registered with HCPC
- Additional after completion of Newly Qualified Practitioner Competencies Framework:
- Evidence of development of specialist knowledge underpinned by current evidence base
- Practice education experience relevant to the client group/aspect of service
- Knowledge and application of theory underpinning speech and language practice
- Knowledge of and adherence to national and local clinical guidelines
- Excellent team working skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multi disciplinary team
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- Car driver with a full valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence
- Overseas applicants - Please note that Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration is essential to be considered for this role
It would be great if you also have
- Member of RCSLT
- Completion NHS Flying Start Programme and RCSLT NQP Framework
- Experience of working with children and young people with speech, language & communication difficulties
- Experience of working with different age groups
- Demonstrates knowledge of assessment and intervention / treatment in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based practice
- Uses knowledge gained from experience and attendance at specialist courses to inform clinical judgement/decision making in the assessment and management of complex clinical conditions
- Knowledge of ASD or Learning Disabilities in C&YP
- Communicates effectively with a wide range of professionals, carers and clients in a form and manner that is consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background and preferred ways of communicating
- Demonstrates ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Takes responsibility for own personal development and takes an active part in learning opportunities
- To contribute to proposed service/policy developments and ensure policies are implemented

Location and Working Pattern
The first post will be based within Children's Services SLT, Lanarkshire.
The second post will be split over Adult Learning Disability SLT Team (3 days) and Children's Services SLT Team (2 days) - Base TBC.
