Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced wind turbine technician (electrical qualification) to work on onshore operations in the UK. The role promises exciting varied work with stability and a competitive Total Reward package.

Applicants should be located or willing to relocate within approximately a 1 hour commute from site locations – Chelveston/Kettering, Northamptonshire. The position is remote.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide on‑site technical direction, hands‑on service and leadership during maintenance and servicing activities at customer‑owned facilities.
  • Prepare job planning documents that define the scope of work, including engineering instructions, drawings and process instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues utilizing customer CTQs (Critical to Quality needs) in job planning and execution.
  • Work independently on fault analyses and repair of wind turbine generator systems in the UK, clarifying any client queries.
  • Document call‑out responses, fault finding and repair work in service reports, logbooks and checklists.
  • Coordinate external and internal service providers and contractors on site.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and mindset to meet GE and customer technical and EHS requirements.
  • Fulfil on‑call obligations for out‑of‑normal working hours if required (e.g., weekends).
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, customer reports, timesheets and expense sheets in a thorough, complete and timely manner.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Appropriately qualified Electrical/Mechanical Fitter or Electrical Technician/Technologist or Electrician/Electrical Fitter with a nationally recognised diploma or certificate.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and testing procedures.
  • High degree of quality awareness; excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Fit and able to work at heights.
  • Structured worker with technical analytical abilities.
  • Computer literate – knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Prepared to travel throughout the UK and Europe for training.
  • Excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills.
  • Valid national driver’s licence.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in leading field‑service teams.
  • Previous experience working on GE turbines.
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access).
  • Basic Workplace First Aid.
