Overview
UPMC Western Maryland is hiring full and part time Patient and Family Concierges to join either their Labor and Delivery or Postpartum Units. The Patient and Family Concierge role will include secretarial/administrative responsibilities, infant security, as well as any of the responsibilities listed below. Each of these positions will cover night shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Candidates will interview for both units but will only be offered one unit or the other.
- A compassionate personality with strong customer service skills.
- Healthcare experience is a big plus, but not required!

- Destination Coordination:
Greet patients and families warmly, provide directions, and escort them to their destinations. Share patient information appropriately, issue parking discounts, and assist with parking functions. - Environmental Services:
Keep patient rooms and public areas clean and organized. Change bed linens, replenish supplies, and report maintenance issues. - Dietary Services:
Assemble and serve meals according to dietary needs, maintain food safety, and deliver meal trays to patients. - Transportation Services:
Safely transport patients, equipment, and lab specimens. Maintain and disinfect transportation equipment. - Supply & Equipment Management:
Order and organize supplies, deliver materials to patient units, and monitor inventory and expiration dates.
- Answer unit phones and respond to call lights.
- Interact with patients, assess their needs, and ensure all areas are satisfactorily maintained.
- Adhere to hand hygiene and infection control procedures.
- Follow mandatory reporting procedures for any incidents affecting patient care.
- Exhibit UPMC Values and practice key behaviors in all responsibilities.
- Must have the desire, drive, and compassion needed to provide an exceptional patient and family experience at all times.
- High School diploma OR active High School/GED program enrollment OR one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
- Previous experience in health care or customer service is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
