• Ship customer impact — Drive top Amazon Music priorities
• Build technical excellence — Establish architecture patterns for agentic workflows, real-time AI systems, and multi-modal content generation at scale
• Grow engineering talent — Develop Engineers into technical leaders through mentorship, code reviews, and strategic project ownership
• Enable organizational leverage — Partner with Applied Science, Product, TPM, and cross‑org teams (Alexa, Catalog, Search) to unlock platform capabilities
• Balance innovation and execution — Maintain production reliability while deploying AI/ML technologies

You’ll operate at the intersection of technology strategy and hands‑on engineering leadership.

• Guide architectural decisions for services handling millions of requests with strict latency/cost requirements
• Review code and design docs for AI orchestration, LLM integration, and content generation pipelines
• Partner with Applied Scientists on model evaluation, prompt engineering, and quality metrics
• Collaborate with Product and TPM on roadmap prioritization, launch sequencing, and customer impact measurement
• Represent the team in org‑wide technical reviews, operational readiness assessments, and strategic planning
• Recruit, hire, and develop engineers who thrive in ambiguous, fast‑moving AI/ML environments

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) new and existing systems
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective, product software engineers
