Our first store opened on January 2nd, 1980, in Anaheim, CA and since then we have grown to over 40 stores across Southern California. We offer our customers a full‑service supermarket with a large meat department, bakery, tortilleria, and prepared foods, as well as a sizeable Latin American grocery section to provide a Mexican "homeland experience." We are looking for enthusiastic people with the potential and desire to grow with us, who are passionate about food, customer‑focused, team‑oriented, and want to be part of the Northgate Family.

• Observe all store rules and company policies, and adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Package, weigh, price, and restock all products in the department following approved procedures for weighing, wrapping, price marking, and product rotation.
• Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy, controlling the level of damaged goods.
• Ensure perishable merchandise is rotated in accordance with department policy, pulling all out‑of‑code merchandise and following FIFO rules.
• Assist customers by slicing, cutting, weighing, packaging, and labeling merchandise; greet all customers and maintain good customer relations.
• Use and maintain equipment in good working order, reporting any problems to store director or key personnel.
• Comply with safety policies and procedures, reviewing all Safety Committee bulletins.
• Perform any other work‑related duties as assigned.

• Regular sitting, standing, and use of hands to handle tools or controls.
• Visual and auditory requirements as described.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, sweep and mop floors, and lift trash containers.
• Agility to respond quickly to emergencies and disassemble or adjust meat‑department equipment.
• Ability to work in fresh fruit and vegetable areas and with latex gloves without negative allergic consequences.
• Work involves high‑humidity refrigerated cutting rooms and occasional frozen storage at temperatures as low as 20°F below zero; surfaces may be wet and slippery.
• Moderate to high noise levels during certain operations.

• High school education preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship/training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range: $18.12 – $21.00 USD
