Overview
Server position at Yunomi Handroll - Culver City, Culver City, CA. Yunomi Handroll is hiring for Servers (FT) and Servers (PT). Must have weekends available. Full-time and part-time shifts available.
Shifts available: 10-hour doubles, 9-hour shifts, or 5.5-hour shifts.
The concept behind Yunomi Handroll is a quick service restaurant serving high quality Japanese style handrolls with a unique and special experience. With only 24 counter seats, the menu includes a limited selection of sushi handrolls, select appetizers, hot teas, various sake, Japanese craft beers and wines served at our bar in a comfortable and dynamic setting. The inspiration behind Yunomi combines Washoku hospitality with Omakase — chef’s choice style service.
We are looking for Servers to join our team. Restaurant experience is preferred.
Below are responsibilities and qualifications for the Server position.
Responsibilities- Welcome all customers
- Learn and maintain general menu knowledge
- Describe our concept, ordering steps and answer any questions our guests may have
- Keep reception area clean, organized and presentable at all times
- Coordinate with service staff to maintain proper seating flow while greeting and seating guests
- Answer phone calls in a polite and warm manner and assist guests with questions
- Check out and process payments for dine-in guests
- Take accurate phone orders, input orders into POS and process payments for take-out orders
- Run food items to tables in the outdoor seating area
- Clean and maintain tables and chairs in the outdoor seating area
- Polished, professional, friendly, dynamic, and able to multitask with a guest-service focus
- Experience as a server in Asian cuisine preferred but not required
- 1 year+ server experience preferred
- Must maintain a sense of urgency with responsibilities while attending customers
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Exceptional communication skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be punctual and presentable
- Must have a valid Food Handler Safe certificate
- Must have CA RBS certification
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
