Cook (Full Time and Part Time)

Compass One Healthcare is hiring an immediate opening for both full‑time and part‑time Cook positions at Southern California Hospital Culver City (3828 Delmas Terrace, Culver City, CA 90232). Online applications only.

• Schedule:
  
  Full‑time and part‑time. Friday through Sunday; hours may vary. Details will be discussed during interview.

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Fixed pay rate: $20.00 per hour.

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare them for delivery using correct portioning, meeting standards, ensuring proper temperature, and ensuring presentation and flavor. Taste all prepared food items.
• Use established ticket‑collection procedures during service and maintain records of the area worked during service periods.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food‑handling procedures.
• Maintain refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored according to standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Perform the job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Commit to personal safety and the safety of others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
  • Use of medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer.
  • Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
  • Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
