Executive Director, Affiliate Relations & Marketing

The Executive Director of Affiliate Relations & Marketing is the senior leader responsible for driving the strategy, relationships, and execution of affiliate marketing initiatives across Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!. This role serves as the primary liaison between the shows and their broadcast station partners, ensuring campaigns, promotional materials, and brand messaging are aligned, supported, and maximized across the national syndication footprint.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in affiliate relations, broadcast marketing, partnership management, and multi-platform promotion within the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities Affiliate Strategy & Relationship Management
  • Lead all affiliate relations across the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! station groups, serving as the go-to partner for marketing, communications, and promotional strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stations, group owners, and broadcast partners to maximize tune-in, ratings, and engagement.
  • Develop tailored marketing strategies for key affiliates based on market needs, ratings performance, and programming opportunities.
  • Act as the voice of affiliate partners internally, providing insight into market trends, priorities, and opportunities for increased station support.
Marketing & Promotion Leadership
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, Production, and Brand teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality affiliate toolkits, tune-in assets, and market-specific promotional materials.
  • Work closely with the shows’ marketing teams to align national campaigns with local affiliate needs, ensuring cohesive and strategic messaging across all platforms.
  • Lead affiliate-specific promotional initiatives including contests, sweepstakes, integrations, talent outreach, and local marketing activations.
Programming Support & Communication
  • Provide affiliates with consistent communication regarding show updates, programming strategies, special episodes, stunts, and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Develop and manage systems for distributing marketing materials, key art, episodic content guidance, and promotional calendars.
  • Partner with internal research teams to provide affiliates with performance insights, ratings data, and competitive positioning to inform local strategies.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate closely with Distribution, Programming, Publicity, Creative, and Marketing to ensure unified priorities and messaging.
  • Partner with Operations and Video Editorial teams to coordinate asset delivery and meet technical specifications for affiliate platforms.
  • Support national marketing moments, events, and franchise expansions with affiliate-specific strategies that amplify reach.
Campaign & Asset Management
  • Help in the development and delivery of:
    • Tune-in spots
    • Co-branded localized promos
    • Social and digital creative assets
    • Press kits and brand toolkits
    • Market-level activation materials
  • Ensure consistency in branding, visual identity, and messaging across all affiliate-facing materials and communications.
Events & Partner Activation
  • Develop and execute affiliate-facing events including conferences, road shows, station visits, and virtual summits.
  • Represent the shows at industry functions, affiliate meetings, and key partner events.
  • Lead planning and execution of local-market stunts, talent appearances, affiliate screenings, and promotional activations.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Direct and mentor a team focused on affiliate communication, marketing distribution, and relationship management.
  • Foster a culture of responsiveness, service, and creativity in all affiliate interactions.
  • Continuously refine workflows and tools to enhance the affiliate experience and streamline communication.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in affiliate relations, broadcast or station marketing, or entertainment marketing within a national TV or syndication environment.
  • Deep understanding of the broadcast ecosystem, ratings landscape, and syndicated programming.
  • Experience managing complex partner relationships across large markets and station groups.
  • Proven ability to create impactful marketing and promotional campaigns across linear, digital, and social platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with iconic or long-running entertainment brands strongly preferred.
  • A strong collaborator who thrives in cross-functional environments and builds trust quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
