Speed in shopping matters and offering same‑day and faster speeds (Sub‑same Day, SSD) on a wide selection is critical. Given the increasing customer expectations on speed and evolving market landscape, the SSD program is rapidly growing and continuously evolving. We work toward offering the right selection to our customers in a reliable and easy way to discover, while reducing the cost to serve.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and prioritize key strategic initiatives to position Amazon as the platform of choice for speed‑sensitive purchases.
- Align key and senior stakeholders to a bold vision for SSD through PRFAQs and other strategy documents.
- Program‑manage the key business metrics (speed perception goal, size of business) working across stakeholders.
- Drive strategic projects (e.g., setting up a proof of concept to make the program bigger in select metros) and hold the right teams accountable in a data‑driven way.
- Set up relevant mechanisms with the relevant teams to support business metrics and strategic projects.
- Establish clear reporting working with analytics to support both the strategy and execution.
The role will drive both strategy and execution of the Sub‑Same Day network, with strong partnerships across functions. This role entails the individual delivering results in a fast‑paced and ambiguous business environment. The role requires a strong customer and operational focus. High judgement, ability to influence without authority, analytical ability, strong tracking/monitoring capabilities, and leadership communication skills are essential to success in this role.

The vision for the Sub‑Same Day program (SSD) is to make Amazon the preferred shopping destination for our customers when they need a product “right now” or “at a specific time.” IN SSD assort products where ‘delivery in hours’ makes a material difference to the customer’s purchase decision and enables the discovery of this assortment. IN SSD is a key component of Amazon IN’s strategy to drive speed perception for our customers, differentiating from online and offline competitors.
In this role, the candidate would have an opportunity to be part of both strategy and execution of SSD from the business side.
- 2+ years of working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams.
- 2+ years of program or project management experience.
- 2+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics.
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL.
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
- 3+ years of driving end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- 3+ years of driving process improvements.
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
