Direct Support Professional – Breaking Barriers Developmentally Disabled Services

Breaking Barriers Developmental Disability Services is seeking a Behavioral Technician to join our growing team. We’re not just looking for any candidate! We want someone who is proactive, resourceful, and confident in their ability to adapt and problem-solve. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can think creatively, collaborate effectively, and bring a positive, professional energy to our team.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of administration, the DSP supports participants in the development, implementation, and achievement of person-centered goals. This role is key in carrying out the daily operations of Community Integration, Tailored Services, and Job Supports, ensuring high-quality delivery of all necessary support. Work may be in-person, virtual, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to participants in achieving person-centered goals.
  • Implement individualized strategies designed to foster independence and community integration.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure continuity of care and quality service delivery.
  • Complete daily logs detailing participants' goals and achievements.
  • Utilize technology to fulfill logs, clock in and out, and communicate.
  • Support daily program operations with professionalism and flexibility.
Qualifications
  • College degree preferred.
  • Ability to pass a live scan background clearance.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a DSP or a skill set aligned with participant-centered goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt to diverse environments and needs.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule for training needs, as the first few weeks will include various hours to train and shadow in the field.
  • Sense of humor and resilience essential in building positive connections with participants and navigating challenges effectively.
