Senior Building Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Building Engineer with accreditation in mold remediation to lead complex building operations, environmental health issues, and capital improvement projects across our properties.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage complex building system issues beyond routine maintenance, including structural, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical challenges.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve environmental health concerns, particularly mold and water intrusion issues.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems.
- Perform inspections, testing, and assessments for mold and other environmental hazards.
- Develop, oversee, and execute remediation plans in compliance with IICRC, OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with certified remediation contractors and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
- Lead planning and execution of capital projects, including system upgrades, building renovations, and preventive infrastructure improvements.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance, cost estimates, and feasibility assessments for proposed projects.
- Prepare detailed reports on building condition, environmental risks, remediation efforts, and project progress.
- Advise the Director of Operations on property needs, long-term planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Accredited mold remediation certification (e.g., IICRC) or ability to obtain such certification with employer assistance.
- Extensive experience in building engineering or facilities management focusing on high-level challenges and capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
- Experience managing mold remediation and other environmental health concerns.
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize complex projects, and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Competitive salary $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
