The Manager, Commercial Planning is a pivotal strategic role responsible for leading the end-to-end commercial planning process for a key portfolio of Wholesale and DTC accounts, driving profitable revenue growth, managing dilution effectively, and exceeding quarterly and annual targets. The position serves as a primary cross-functional partner, collaborating closely with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply, Fulfillment, Finance, and external Retailer Planning teams to align strategies and ensure seamless execution.

This individual will leverage their strong analytical skills and business acumen to provide actionable insights, manage risks, drive results, and champion process improvements across the organization.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Manage a key portfolio of accounts as the Commercial Planning partner, collaborating closely with Sales, Demand Planning, and Fulfillment teams
  • Lead portfolio budget planning and quarterly reforecasting, with accountability for Revenue and Dilution targets
  • Own driving and tracking Revenue (sell-in) and Dilution for the account portfolio
  • Oversee monthly/year-to-date (YTD) revenue projections for the portfolio versus forecast, reporting weekly and monthly to the Commercial and Executive Leadership Teams
  • Ensure Replenishment and Newness (NPD) Purchase Orders (POs) are received and track to plan for the portfolio
  • Manage portfolio inventory and analysis (weeks of supply, turn, sell-out trends) to proactively identify additional revenue opportunities through strategic inventory management and retailer proposals
  • Build relationships with key Retailer Planning partners to drive year-over-year profitable growth
  • Collaborate with Retailer Planning counterparts to track Open-to-Buy (OTB) versus sales expectations, negotiating with Sales partners as needed throughout the month
  • Utilize retailer portals and internal tools to obtain necessary data such as sales reporting, inventory, and dilution insights
  • Responsible for preparing for Revenue reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis internally and externally with Retailers
  • Partner closely with the Finance team to communicate the quarterly financial forecast monthly for Revenue & Dilution and reconcile the P&L
  • Work with the Sales team to plan, forecast, and track near-term promotions, returns, and dilution activities
  • Lead Global Dilution Tracking (Promotions, Returns, DIF, etc) processes and tools, ensuring reporting optimization and standardization
  • Own Commercial Planning tool building, automation, and optimization, leading to increased operational efficiency
  • Function as the Excess Commercial strategy and process lead to reduce excess inventory and optimize the global process

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Commercial Planning, Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, Sales Planning, Merchandise Planning, or similar
  • Beauty, Consumer Goods (CPG), or related industry experience preferred
  • Experience working with omni-channel Mass and/or Specialty Retailers, as well as e-commerce (including Amazon), preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.); experience with Power

    BI, Netsuite, or similar BI/ERP tools preferred; planning & AI tool experience a plus
  • Strong financial acumen and advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling business insights and actionable recommendations
  • High attention to detail, proactive creative and resourceful problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; adjusts tone and message to appropriate audiences
  • Collaborative team player with experience building strong cross-functional & external stakeholder relationships
