A Westside mid-sized company is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, reconciliation, and supporting month-end close and inventory. To be successful in this role, the Staff Accountant will need to be able to thrive on a small team, wear many hats, and have great data and Excel skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 2-5 years of accounting experience
• Advanced Excel
• Must have experience working in manufacturing, consumer products, or related field with inventory

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and inventory-related transactions
• Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, with a focus on inventory, cost of goods sold, and related reserves
• Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory roll-forwards, cycle counts, physical counts, and reconciliation of variances
• Analyze inventory and COGS fluctuations; investigate and explain variances
• Maintain accurate fixed asset and prepaid schedules, as applicable
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and audit support schedules
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate inventory and cost reporting
• Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures and controls
