Key Responsibilities for the Urgent Care Veterinarian

• Provide high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care for non‑critical urgent cases during extended or after‑hours shifts.
• Diagnose and treat acute conditions such as wounds, vomiting/diarrhea, lameness, infections, and other same‑day needs.
• Collaborate closely with the Partner Doctor and medical team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide education, treatment options, and reassurance in high‑stress situations.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with Heart + Paw standards.
• Foster a culture of empathy, teamwork, and clinical excellence across the hospital.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary licensure, in good standing with the applicable state board.
• At least 2+ years of small animal clinical experience; urgent care or emergency experience preferred.
• Exceptional communication and client service skills.
• Calm and compassionate demeanor, even under pressure.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to Fear Free handling techniques.
• Willingness to continually learn and adapt in a dynamic medical setting.

The pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position and is determined based on experience, skill set, location and other factors.

$120,000 - $140,000 USD
