JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager’s primary job responsibility is to deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time. The Nurse Manager facilitates an environment that allows staff to be present with patients and their families by supporting their desire to positively impact the health and well‑being of our patients, our families, and our communities through the nursing process. The Nurse Manager strives to spend at least 50% of his/her time on the unit and is visible, present, and available to staff to provide necessary mentoring, teaching and support.
Nurse Managers develop and maintain collegial relationships with physicians, clinical educators, and other interdisciplinary team members. She/he provides leadership and creates a strategy to achieve the best outcomes including but not limited to quality, financial vitality, employee, and customer satisfaction. The Nurse Manager provides clinical and operational leadership for the Cancer Center Infusion and Clinic, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
This role oversees nursing practice, staff management, and clinic operations, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
The Nurse Manager reports to the Department Director/Senior Director.
Clinical Leadership:
- Supervise the delivery of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions.
- Ensure adherence to oncology protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Promote evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other care providers to coordinate patient care.
Staff Management:
- Lead and support nursing and ancillary staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop staffing schedules and manage coverage to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and team collaboration.
Analysis:Analyzes processes and creates deliverables to provide information and recommendations for improvements.
- Breaks down problems and issues into sub-components and assesses the costs, benefits, and risks of various options.
- Is able to select and recommend the best solution based on a thorough examination of all considerations.
