Full‑time, 3:00 PM–3:00 AM shift.
Sign‑on bonus: $15,000.
Locations: UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper.

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper, establishing authentic personalized relationships with patients and their support system. The RN collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that promote optimal health. Responsibilities include managing charge duties, providing and documenting patient care under the direction of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager, and adhering to all current policies and procedures.

• Provide care to multiple patients and assume charge responsibility.
• Prioritize tasks, administer medication following the five rights.
• Communicate verbally and in written form; maintain basic computer proficiency.
• Safely and effectively care for all patient populations that present to the department.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required); a 4‑year bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the applicable state required.
• CPI certification required within three months of hire for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and CSSO.

• Ability to perform basic nursing skills on groups of patients.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly.
• Ability to administer medication utilizing the five rights.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to safely and effectively care for all patient populations presenting to the department.

• Patient Care: Acts with patient advocacy; collaborates with the team to educate patients and support systems; analyzes and prioritizes care; ensures completion of nursing interventions, medical orders, and related therapies.
• Teamwork: Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and internal customers; mentors and precepts new members; resolves conflicts independently; accepts responsibility for actions.
• Medical Knowledge: Demonstrates medical skills; operates equipment such as portable cardiac monitors and bedside commodes; performs IVs, dressing changes, and other routine nursing care; assists in critical situations including CPR; administers and evaluates medication therapies; performs patient transfers and transports via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.

Medium to heavy physical demand: constant standing, frequent walking, bending/stooping; requires lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.; use safe handling equipment for weights over 35 lbs.; requires proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and legible writing.

• May require safety equipment such as a HEPA mask for infection prevention.
• On‑call responsibilities as directed.
• Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.
