Summary / ObjectiveThe Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily production operations within the Value‑Added department, including personnel, Production Supervisors, and production operators. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations while meeting production goals, delivery schedules, and continuous improvement objectives.
Essential FunctionsThis position requires flexibility to support production operations and may require extended hours, or overtime based on business needs.
Production Operations & Leadership- Oversee daily operations for Honeycomb Production (Expansion, Dip Tank), Saws, Heat Form, Blanks, Hand Parts, and Bonding processes
- Provide leadership and direction to Production Supervisors and production teams to ensure operational goals are met
- Step in during Supervisor absences to ensure machines, staffing, and production requirements continue without interruption
- Ensure all departments and employees operate as a cohesive team
- Collaborate with Planning to develop and support daily production schedules for each department
- Track daily production output, inventory levels, and material usage
- Work with Planning, Sales, and Purchasing to ensure timely ordering and availability of raw materials
- Partner with Planning and Sales to establish and communicate accurate lead times for new and existing orders
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support new products, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive improvements in quality, procedures, productivity, and machine uptime
- Monitor, maintain, and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Work closely with Safety to maintain a safe and compliant work environment
- Utilize EC Applications (ECC ERP system) to order supplies and maintain adequate working stock
- Participate in cross‑functional meetings with department leaders for long‑range planning and contract reviews
- Partner with Human Resources on hiring, training, employee relations, and workforce planning
- Work with Maintenance to ensure all production equipment is operating properly and maintained
- Collaborate with senior management to implement new equipment, processes, and operational initiatives
Education and Experience
- Full‑time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week; overtime as required
- Time split between office environment and production floor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to learn and utilize EC Applications (ECC ERP system)
- Manufacturing background required
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills, including written correspondence
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- College degree or a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience optimizing machine uptime and production efficiency
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple production demands
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track and interpret KPIs
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments
- Exposure to noise, heat, cold, and other manufacturing conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility for extended periods
