Summary / Objective
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Safety Technician supports the implementation and maintenance of safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. This role assists in promoting a safe work environment through inspections, training support, hazard identification, and collaboration with employees and leadership. The Safety Technician plays a key role in fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and observations to identify hazards and ensure compliance with ECC safety standards.
- Support risk assessments and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist with EHS training programs, including onboarding safety orientation and ongoing safety awareness initiatives.
- Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, document findings, and assist with follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, including inspections, incident reports, training documentation, and compliance logs.
- Support waste management programs, including coordination of hazardous waste storage and removal.
- Assist with environmental initiatives such as waste reduction, energy conservation, and sustainability efforts.
- Collaborate with supervisors, management, and employees to promote safe work practices.
- Provide administrative and field support for EHS projects and initiatives.
- Interface professionally with coworkers, vendors, and regulatory agencies as needed regarding EHS matters.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Associate’s degree or technical training in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 1–2 years of experience in a safety, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
