The Delivery Merchandiser – Small Store Trainee CDL is a touch freight position responsible for delivering and rotating stock, and for merchandising shelves, racks, equipment and displays to company standards.
What Your Day Will Look Like- Transports and unloads products to retail outlets
- Merchandises all product inside the outlet to company standards
- Works in partnership with the Sales Supervisor to execute the picture of success, establishing positive relationships with all customers and providing superior customer service
- Provides feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities as they arise
- Works with all functional team members
- Sets up merchandise and sales‑promotion displays
- Communicates store‑level issues to management
- Complies with DOT rules for driving purposes
- Maintains rapport with customers
- Collects any breakage or out‑of‑date product, including empty shells and pallets
- Accurately accounts for all cases and customer transactions
- Ensures proper care of product, equipment, and route settlement daily
- Delivers, rotates, and merchandises product on shelves, displays and all cold equipment
- Maintains backstock in an organized manner
- Keeps coolers, racks, and shelves clean
- Assists with training, coaching, succession planning of any delivery merchandiser trainees
- Builds strong relationships with customer base across assigned customers
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
- Minimum age 21 years
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License required; must maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Ability to maintain DOT physical requirements
- Compliance with PPE requirements and safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
- Professional appearance in accordance with company guidelines
- Responsible for safety and security of company assets
- Abilities to use company provided resources and technology
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repetitively in a fast‑paced environment
- High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Capability to present information in 1‑on‑1 and small‑group settings to customers, clients, and other employees
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; use of whole numbers, fractions, decimals)
- Problem‑solving skills
- Self‑motivation; performs duties with minimal supervision
