Note:
This role is not remote and requires in-person work. A flexible part-time schedule starts in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season; from January to April, the role transitions to full-time, including evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
- Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office-related growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist the DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to resolve issues and address performance concerns.
- Foster an engaging, collaborative team environment across all offices through training and coaching, recognizing outstanding contributions.
- Prepare associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for associates in all offices.
- Travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- People management experience with a track record of growing and developing associates.
- Aptitude for executing growth plans and leading toward a growth-oriented culture.
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills; ability to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset that seeks to understand and exceed client needs.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with the equivalent combination of experience.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
