Our Cuijk site is a key hub for recycling, producing, and converting paper into tissue products for the Netherlands and Central Europe markets. We are looking for a Unit Controller to join our team and act as a true sparring partner for our paper factory operations.
About the RoleAs the Unit Controller for our Cuijk factory, you will be the business partner for the Converting Unit and International Distribution Center (IDC). You’ll dive deep into the operations, ensuring accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and continuous improvement. You will challenge the business, ask the right questions, and provide actionable recommendations.
You’ll be part of a small, collaborative controlling team and report directly to the Site Controller. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine analytical expertise with strong stakeholder interaction in a dynamic production environment.
What You Will DoBe a Role Model for Safety – set the example in all aspects of safety.
Act as a business partner for operational departments, attending weekly operational meetings to stay close to the factory floor.
Deliver accurate reporting of production and financial figures in the right periods, including steering the month‑end closing process in collaboration with global colleagues.
Perform GAP analyses: compare forecasts with actual spend, identify variances, and dig into root causes.
Coordinate and prepare the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and mid‑term planning, gathering input from stakeholders.
Analyze cost drivers in detail and propose improvement initiatives.
Support audits (year‑end and interim) and ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and MICR (internal control).
Understand and challenge inventory impacts related to BOM changes and production plans.
Execute pricing updates and calculations based on market requests and plant input.
Continuously improve controlling systems and processes, leveraging tools like Power Query, pivot tables, and Power BI to link and analyze data across files.
Drive harmonized processes across sites and share best practices within the Controlling Network.
Provide ad hoc financial expertise at local and European levels.
Who You AreBachelor’s degree in Finance, Controlling, or a comparable field.
Preferably experience in controlling within a production environment.
Strong analytical skills and ability to link data from multiple sources.
Skilled in SAP S4 or R3, Excel Analysis for Office, and Power BI.
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written);
Dutch is a plus but not mandatory.
Open-minded, proactive, and collaborative team player with courage to challenge and pioneer improvements.
Ability to prioritize, handle pressure, and manage conflicts effectively.
