Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a leading Therapeutic Education Service to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled SEN English Teacher to join their dedicated team in Barnsley.
About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and creative English Teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons for students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, communication difficulties, and trauma-related behaviours.
As part of a nurturing, multidisciplinary team, your role will involve:
- Planning and teaching inspiring English lessons across Key Stages, tailored to individual learning needs.
- Supporting pupils in developing literacy, comprehension, and confidence in spoken and written communication.
- Providing constructive feedback to guide progress and celebrate achievement.
- Creating a positive, therapeutic learning environment where every child feels valued and safe.
- Working collaboratively with support staff and therapists to ensure holistic progress for each learner.
We re looking for someone who is:
- Qualified holding QTS or QTLS (essential).
- Experienced in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision settings.
- Passionate about supporting students who may have experienced barriers to learning.
- Empathetic and patient, with a commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed practice.
- Collaborative, with a team-oriented mindset and a desire to contribute to a positive school culture.
