Description
The Sonographer 2 performs a full range of ultrasound examinations independently for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound or diagnostic techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound/diagnostic procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure.
Performs all procedures according to departmental protocol. Performs other related duties as required. On call shifts required at the discretion of the Imaging Manager / Director.>
Technical Program Ultrasound Technology
Certification- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Completed ARDMS Physics Exam or obtained ARRT Sonography Registry
- Obtained one (1) advanced certification with the ARDMS (i.e.: Abdomen, Breast, RVT or OB/GYN)
- Obtained CCI RVS certification
One (1) year of experience performing diagnostic imaging in clinical setting
