Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Bilingual Teacher. This role provides Ukrainian and English instruction, resource and diagnostic services, instruction in English and Ukrainian language development and acquisition, and native language instruction to second language learners.

• Be familiar with or have experience in a dual language program
• Screen all students entering with Spanish language backgrounds
• Plan and deliver English and Spanish language development programs for eligible students
• Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as needed
• Confer with parents and teachers concerning individual students
• Assist the diagnostic teams to help determine the needs of the students
• Consult with classroom teachers regarding curriculum modifications necessary to meet the needs of the second language learner
• Maintain records on program students
• Maintain and improve professional competencies by attending workshops and conferences
• Attend staff meetings at building and district level; serves on district committees as needed
• Assist in curriculum planning as needed
• Provide staff development based on building and district needs

Translate and interpret on an as-needed basis

• Bilingual Education Teacher endorsement or ELS‑TBE (K‑9) – Ukrainian
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and second language determined by student needs

• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment and materials
• Demonstrate high levels of flexibility, interpersonal communication skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality and organization
