Join AECOM as a Senior Rail Electrical & Power Design Engineer. We are seeking an experienced electrical design professional to lead delivery of rail electrification and power projects across the UK, with a focus on low voltage systems such as points heating, lighting and signalling power.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Electrification & Power (E&P) team within Transportation, you will take responsibility for the technical and commercial delivery of key rail projects. You will lead and manage electrical design work packages, act as Lead Engineer or CRE, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

• Deliver: Lead and manage delivery of electrical design work packages, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate: Provide technical and commercial oversight, including design planning, risk management, and quality assurance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and constructible design solutions.
• Thrive: Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates, supporting their professional development and chartership journeys.

• Proven experience delivering Electrification & Power systems in the UK rail sector.
• Deep knowledge of low voltage systems: points heating, lighting and signalling power.
• Experience with Network Rail, London Underground, Railway Group Standards, British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Familiarity with the full project lifecycle from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and construction support.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, design safety principles and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Collaborative and proactive mindset with the ability to lead, mentor and influence.
• Capability to coordinate and perform site surveys.

• BSc, BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Chartered Engineer or working towards, with a recognised institution such as IET.
• Extensive rail industry experience and background in Electrical Engineering.
• Track record in railway electrification and power design and delivery.
• Experience leading projects as a CRE or Lead Engineer.
• Proficiency with Points Heating, Signalling Power, Power system analysis, ETAP, AMTEC, Electrical
  
  OM etc.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team.
