We’re recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy, well-equipped bus engineering environment in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who takes pride in high standards and enjoys working with modern, complex PSV fleets.

The Role of the HGV Technician
As an HGV Technician, you’ll play a key part in keeping the fleet safe, reliable, and compliant. You will carry out inspections, diagnose faults, and complete mechanical and electrical repairs across all major vehicle systems—including engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrics.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician

Routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of the PSV fleet to DVSA standards
Diagnose and repair faults across engines, brakes, electrical systems, air-con, and driveline components
Ensure all work aligns with manufacturer guidelines and internal maintenance procedures
Use diagnostic equipment to accurately assess vehicle performance and identify required repairs
Maintain a safe, organised working environment and follow all workshop safety protocols
What You’ll Need as HGV Technician

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Time-Served, or equivalent qualification in HGV/PSV Maintenance
Full UK Driving Licence
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Confident in safe use of workshop equipment and competent in electrical system repairs
Ability to work independently and within a team
IRTEC accreditation an advantage
