Job DescriptionOur Electrical Water Engineering team supports clients with the management of their assets. This work can encompass everything from designing new-build treatment works to assessing the condition of existing plant and machinery. We play an important role in helping our clients develop new assets or improve existing ones, offering both improved performance and efficiency.
Our electrical water engineers specify the equipment and infrastructure required to power and control pumping and treatment systems. This involves producing schedules and specifications to allow control panels to be designed, and the control rooms to be laid out. They produce cable sizing, cable and circuit schedules, develop ducting networks, and create control philosophies. They work closely with national power grids to arrange new or upgraded supplies and collaborate heavily with mechanical designers to ensure all design elements interface correctly.
Responsibilities- Production of cable calculations, cable schedules, and circuit schedules.
- Production of lighting designs.
- Production of MCC/Control Panel details including ICA information.
- Production of electrical specification documents.
- Utilisation of Amtech, Dialux, and Lighting Reality software design programmes.
- Liaise with internal and external design teams, clients and contractors as appropriate.
- Provision of timely reporting to both the client and internal team lead.

QualificationsWe welcome candidates who meet the following requirements:
- MEng in Electrical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent) – preferred.
- Relevant work experience – an advantage.
- Enthusiastic, hard‑working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
- Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report‑writing skills.
- Water‑related modules – an advantage.
- Willing and able to pursue professional qualifications such as IET or IMechE.
- Demonstrable interest in water projects.
- Capability to satisfy client and business expectations and consider wider financial and commercial implications.
- Effective communication to internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining initiative and focus.
