Are you someone who thrives in challenging environments and wants a role where your presence truly matters?

We're recruiting resilient, grounded, and committed SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across highly regarded SEN Trusts in Croydon, Bromley, and South East London. These trusts are known for strong leadership, clear structures, and teams who support one another in demanding but highly rewarding settings.

This role isn't about standing on the sidelines. It's about stepping in, holding boundaries, building trust, and being a consistent role model for young people who need it most.

You'll be working with pupils across Primary and Secondary phases, supporting students with SEMH, complex mental health needs, ADHD, and ASD. Environments vary significantly, and we take time to match you to a setting where your strengths, personality, and experience will be used to best effect.

About the Trusts

Two established SEN Trusts with 20+ schools across neighbouring boroughs

Each site is unique, with different challenges, structures, and student profiles

Long-term roles are preferred, though part-time and daily cover options are available

Strong potential for permanent roles for those who prove themselves

Shortlisted candidates are carefully matched to schools where they can make the biggest impact

What We're Looking For

Experience supporting individuals with SEMH, complex mental health needs, ASD, ADHD, or learning difficulties
(This can be from education, youth work, care, mental health, sports coaching, the armed forces, or similar settings)

Confidence and composure when managing challenging behaviour

A calm, authoritative presence with a focus on de-escalation and consistency

The ability to build respect and rapport with young people who may test boundaries

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
(We can support this process if needed, though it may extend timelines)

A genuine commitment to helping young people develop emotionally, socially, and behaviourally

Why Join These Trusts?

Strong leadership and clear behaviour systems

Teams that look out for one another in demanding environments

Ongoing CPD and specialist training, including PRICE / Team Teach

A professional culture where effort, reliability, and impact are recognised

The chance to do work that is challenging, meaningful, and genuinely life-changing

If you're ready for a role where your resilience, consistency, and mindset can change outcomes, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply today to join a committed team making a real difference for young people with SEMH needs.
