Position: Estimator (Permanent)

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join and lead the Estimating function at a regional main contractor, who has been serving clients in Surrey, South London and the surrounding areas for over 30 years.

This established and growing contractor delivers high-quality projects ranging from £1M - £25M. They work across various sectors, but are strongest in the new build social housing sector.

The Estimator Role:

The successful Estimator will report directly to the MD and Commercial Director and take full ownership of the estimating function, ensuring high-quality, competitive bids are delivered consistently and efficiently. This is a role for an experienced Estimator, with great commercial acumen, somebody who can get a deal done and a strong negotiator. The company have a good library of costs to use to price new jobs.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading the Estimating function and overseeing all tendering activity

* Taking responsibility for converting enquiries into secured contracts

* Engaging with clients to understand their requirements and tailoring proposals accordingly

* Working closely with internal departments to price projects, develop early-stage programmes, and provide value engineering solutions

* Identifying and mitigating commercial and project risks

* Conducting supply chain research and building relationships to support bid strategy

* Playing a key role in the company’s wider strategic growth and success

Candidate Requirements:

* Proven experience as an Estimator in the UK construction industry with a main contractor

* Successful track record of pricing and securing projects valued £1M+ across various sectors

* In-depth knowledge of JCT contracts (Design & Build and Traditional)

* Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
