Journeyman Machinist – Rotating Equipment

• Promote safety and quality in all activities; keep the work area clean and organized.
• Represent the shop professionally with internal and external customers.
• Plan setups from prints, sketches, job scopes, and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Execute complex manual operations: turning, boring, facing, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, sawing, slotting, grooving, and grinding.
• Hold extremely close tolerances and verify results using micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.
• Apply procedures, specifications, and documentation to ensure conformance.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance; escalate troubleshooting and repair needs as required.
• Record all dimensional inspections accurately and pass annual dimensional inspection tests.
• Complete layouts for most parts.
• Train colleagues on equipment operation, print interpretation, tooling selection, machining processes, and repair methods.
• Maintain shift-to-shift continuity by documenting actions, irregularities, and ongoing requirements.
• Complete production and quality logs with precision.
• Own your performance and pursue continuous skill development.

• Machines:
  Horizontal and vertical lathes, layout machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, grinders, deburring tools, fixtures, radial and angular drill presses.
• Material Handling:
  Forklifts, cranes with advanced rigging, jib hoists.
• Systems:
  Personal computers for documentation and reference.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• 5–8 years of experience in rotating turbo machinery
• Advanced rigging capabilities
• Advanced manual lathe machining capabilities
• Experience with turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment
