A Typical Day:
As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that grow stronger each year. You will lead a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Provide frontline leadership and development of tax office associates to deliver an outstanding client experience and achieve office growth objectives.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Serve as point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure proper scheduling and conflict resolution.
- Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with quality, prioritization, and goal alignment.
- Build an engaging team environment through training and coaching to meet service standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information; create associate work schedules and manage timekeeping and overtime.
- Prepare tax returns as required and conduct timely performance reviews; partner with Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
- Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
- 2+ years as a Tax Professional (if preparing tax returns).
- Ability to meet IRS/state requirements; annual continuing education completion.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer-centric mindset; flexible schedule and assignments as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
