Position: OFFICE LIAISON PHYSICIAN PRACTICES-CROWNPT-FAMPRAC

Office Liaison Physician Practices Crownpt Famprac

Under general supervision, the Office Liaison supports referrals into the Methodist Hospital System for all specialties. The role manages referral logistics, greets and registers patients, obtains demographics and financial information, and coordinates appointments while providing excellent customer service. The Office Liaison also collaborates with the Business Growth and Development Liaison to identify marketing opportunities as Methodist expands geographically.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards applicable to areas of responsibility as required by accreditation bodies.
  • Assist patients with the check-in and check-out process, and prepare medical records for physician visits.
  • Direct telephone calls and messages to appropriate persons, providing customer service as needed.
  • Initiate scheduling process for referrals/clinic patients.
  • Verify financial information and insurance coverages.
  • Track patient progress as determined by the provider.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and medications.
  • Travel may be required and is reimbursable per annual mileage log for coverage to other locations or for marketing purposes on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient visits and future appointments.
  • Good computer skills and ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Positive attitude, professional courtesy, and compassionate customer service to patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to diffuse stressful situations tactfully and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, and to multi-task.
  • Prior work as a Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.
Education

High School Diploma/GED required.

Experience

Preferred: 2 years of experience in a healthcare/medical‑physician’s office.
