Position: GROUP HOME MANAGER-CROWN POINT

Reports to: Group Home Program Coordinator FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary

This is a valuable position on the Group Home team with primary responsibility for the day-to‑day operation of the group home. Responsibilities include supervision of direct support staff and ensuring the needs of individuals receiving services are met. Also includes serving as the primary liaison to families, day services and other support agencies. Responsible for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations as well as agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health and safety of individuals served while providing opportunities for personal growth.
  • Monitor and assist with completion of all daily activities.
  • Monitor and assist with supporting the medical needs of assigned residents.
  • Hire, train, supervise and schedule group home staff, always assuring coverage. (Schedules should be posted for staff two weeks in advance with copies submitted to the Prog. Coord.)
  • Monitor and assist with petty cash, and budgets.
  • Serve as a liaison to day service programs, other support agencies, families, neighbors, community resources.
  • Have contact with families/guardians and day services at least one time a month with documentation submitted to Prog. Coord.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal licensing regulations, and agency policies/procedures.
  • Monitor the completion of daily paperwork, correspondence, and maintain permanent records. (Must be familiar with policies and procedures)
  • Assist in writing, implementing, and recording required reviews, plans, and schedules.
  • Must be proficient in writing reports that are grammatically correct and complete.
  • Monitor the repairs and maintenance of the group home and related equipment.
  • Participate in required in‑service training and meetings. (ISP meetings, med team reviews, quarterly behavior meetings, monthly management meetings)
  • Hold regular (monthly) staff meetings to maintain effective communication among group home staff. (Submit sign‑in sheets and minutes to Prog. Coord.)
  • Conduct monthly house meetings with the individuals & fill out complaint forms and submit as needed. Submit minutes of meetings to Prog. Coord.
  • Other duties as requested by the Group Home Program Coordinator.
  • Responsible for checking in and putting away medication deliveries, ensuring that all necessary meds have been received in a timely manner.
  • Read nutritional evaluations and review with staff twice a year as received to ensure that diets and recommendations are being followed. (this would be considered in‑service training)
  • Ensure that menus are dated, signed, posted in clear view and followed.
  • Plan group and one‑on‑one activities and outings in the community for the individuals and staff.
  • Be able to navigate MyMITC on the computer to make time sheet corrections.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, be a role model for your staff and individuals and a professional representative for In‑Pact.
  • Keep the nurse advised of dates and results of medical and psychological appointments.
  • Submit all incident reports requiring a state incident report to your coordinator so that he/she can submit them within 24 hrs. of occurrence.
  • Review BSPs and HRP’s with your staff annually for each individual at staff meetings. (this would be considered as in‑service training)
  • Ensure staff have 24 hr. of in‑service per year utilizing training handouts and behavior quizzes as well as office trainings.
  • Submit all bank statements and pay stub monthly. and
  • Submit mail from Social Security and Medicaid as they are received to the Assistant/Soc.

  • Responsible as an on‑call resource for emergencies after hours.
  • Transport when necessary.
Qualifications

A minimum of two years’ experience in residential services for the intellectually disabled. Supervisory experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Pre‑employment requirement: HCSP state‑required certification (this will be discussed during pre‑screening phone interview).
