The Project Architect is responsible for leading and coordinating the design and execution of architectural projects.
This role requires the ability to integrate client needs, technical requirements, and design excellence while ensuring compliance with codes, schedules, and budgets. The ideal candidate will exemplify leadership, collaboration, and innovation to enhance productivity and project quality within a multidisciplinary architectural and engineering environment.
- Translate client needs into feasible, creative, and functional design solutions.
- Plan and coordinate architectural layouts, integrating engineering systems and sustainability principles.
- Lead the design development process and ensure alignment with project goals and building codes.
- Prepare and review detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents using architectural design software (AutoCAD,
Revit
). - Evaluate materials, finishes, and building systems, consulting with vendors as required.
- Conduct feasibility studies and generate technical reports to support design decisions.
- Oversee the construction documentation process and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Manage construction administration tasks, including site observations, RFIs, and submittal reviews.
- Support the bidding process and assist with contractor selection and contract negotiations.
- Assist with code reviews and compliance strategy during all project phases.
- Liaise with local and state officials to ensure adherence to applicable building and zoning regulations.
- Engage with clients to determine project goals, spatial and functional requirements, and budget parameters.
- Represent clients throughout the design and construction process, including design presentations and contract negotiations.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to manage expectations and secure approvals.
- Direct and mentor junior staff in the preparation of drawings and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering disciplines, consultants, and contractors.
- Foster a team-oriented environment and support cross-disciplinary coordination efforts.
- Engage in ongoing learning and development activities to stay current with industry best practices and technologies.
- Demonstrates a commitment to personal growth and supports the firm’s culture of learning and innovation.
