The hospital operates a 25‑bed Critical Access Hospital, River View Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, River View Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in its service area. Responsibilities

Job Title:

Register Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Position Status: 0.9 fte (72 hours per pay period) – rotational days and nights (12‑hour shifts), requiring two weekends every six weeks.

Salary Range: $36.73 - $51.43 per hour (based on experience)

Riverview Health Emergency Department is currently looking for an RN to join our team.

Essential Functions
  • Patient Assessment and Triage – Perform rapid assessment and triage based on patient acuity.
  • Provide direct patient care in the ER, including triage, stabilization, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Emergency Intervention – Respond to life‑threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma.
  • Documentation and Reporting – Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Demonstrate compliance with all regulatory standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
  • Communication and Collaboration – Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members. Provide patient education on plan of care, discharge instructions, and medications.
  • Patient Advocacy and Safety – Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
  • Emotional and Crisis Support – Provide emotional support to patients and families during traumatic events. Maintain professionalism and composure in high‑stress situations.
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Current State of Minnesota RN license is required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC Certifications (if not current, River View will discuss assistance in obtaining on hire).
Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in emergency nursing, ICU, or trauma.
Competencies
  • Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
