About the role
As a part of the Production Team, a Production Assembly Worker will be responsible for all required assemblies and installations on heavy‑duty transit buses in the assigned work area on the production line, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
We are seeking Production Assembly Workers for two different shifts.
Schedule- 1st shift – Monday‑Friday 7:00‑3:30 p; overtime Monday‑Thursday until 5:30 p and every other Saturday 7:00‑3:30 p.
- 2nd shift – Monday‑Thursday 3:00‑1:30 a; overtime every other Friday 3:00‑11:30 p.
- Performs all installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area on the production line.
- Prepares work by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
- Ensures quality and consistency in installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area.
- Works from blueprints, process sheets, and/or written instructions, building to those specifications while utilizing measurement tools and basic math skills.
- Has working knowledge of hand and air tools. Employee is regularly exposed to vibration, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
- Regularly lifts and moves up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Bends, stoops and reaches; climbs up and down and uses a ladder as needed. Employee will spend extended periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ensures workstation is kept clean and in safe working condition.
- Is present on the job to perform assigned duties and can work overtime as often required to meet production schedules.
- Ability to use small hand and power tools repetitively, as well as measuring equipment and tools.
- Ability to read and follow intermediate measurements and instructions with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Team player, a self‑starter who can work with little supervision and excellent time‑management skills.
- Can lift at least 50 lbs; also capable of bending, working above the head, occasionally climbing a ladder, and standing most of the shift.
- Competitive wages – $24.20 for 1st shift; 1st pay increase at 5 months.
- $1.10 / hour shift differential for 2nd shift.
