Machining Operations Manager

The Machine Shop Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily machining operations, including CNC machining, manual machining, tooling, scheduling, and personnel supervision. This role ensures that productivity, quality, safety, and cost goals are met while supporting continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional collaboration.

• Direct and coordinate machining activities across shifts to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
• Oversee workflow through CNC mills, lathes, manual machines, and other machining centers.
• Monitor machine efficiency, cycle times, and job priorities for maximum productivity.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, quality, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations.
• Supervise machining shift coordinators and machine operators.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to foster a skilled and engaged workforce
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas through 5S principles.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap, and downtime.

• Previous Leadership/Management experience within a manufacturing department or facility
• Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, blueprint reading, and G-code programming.
• Familiar with ERP system, machining performance metrics, and lean manufacturing practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
