The Project Coordinator for the Crookston Economic Development Authority (CEDA) supports efforts to grow and strengthen the local business community. The role focuses on coordinating economic development projects, identifying and managing funding opportunities, assisting with grants and loans, and serving as a liaison between residents, businesses, developers, and government or foundation partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as a liaison between residents, businesses, and CEDA by clearly communicating projects and funding opportunities through meetings and follow-up.
- Assist the Community Development Director (CDD) with identifying, analyzing, administering, writing, and monitoring complex grants, loans, and funding programs.
- Research, track, and maintain information on federal, state, and private funding opportunities, including deadlines and partner contacts.
- Advise applicants on technical, regulatory, and compliance requirements for funding applications and contracts.
- Support economic development project planning by identifying partners, funding sources, and sustainable development opportunities.
- Review budgets, financial reports, and funding requests to ensure alignment with program goals and compliance requirements.
- Assist with funding award processes and communicate relevant state and federal policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive financial, project, and recipient data.
- Work one‑on‑one with residents and businesses, including neighborhood outreach and workshops.
- Attend meetings with developers, business owners, consultants, boards, and commissions.
- Take meeting minutes, prepare reports, and maintain organized records and contact files.
- Coordinate and manage the CDD’s schedule and calendar.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree from an accredited educational institution preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
- Experience coordinating projects with multiple partners and entities.
- Experience with record keeping and deadline management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of building, infrastructure, and sustainable development projects.
- Experience with project budget development and implementation.
- Experience with grant writing, grant management, reporting, reimbursements, and compliance across federal, state, and foundation funding sources.
- Familiarity with economic development financing tools such as bonding, Tax Increment Financing (TIF), revolving loan funds, or similar programs.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal financial regulations applicable to public or quasi‑public entities.
- This job typically requires: sitting, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination. This position is generally light duty. Most work is in a normal office environment. Limited lifting of 20 pounds or less is required.
