Job Overview
Dietary Aide – Part Time at Covenant Living of Colorado We are inspired to serve. The Dietary Aide (or Nutrition Aide) is responsible for preparing and delivering healthy meals and ensuring that patients have the proper foods based on their needs. They work closely with Dietitians, providing them details on allergies or restrictions to create plans accordingly.
Responsibilities- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service under the guidance of the Chef or Dietitian.
- Deliver dishes, trays, and designated times and rooms to patients.
- Set up and clear dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order, including dish, tray, trash, and leftover removals.
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements to maintain cleanliness of prep items.
- Perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed.
- Provide customer service and hospitality during nutrition delivery.
- Must communicate effectively (verbal and written, English) with residents and staff.
- Must read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices.
- Must be cordial, congenial, dependable, detail oriented, organized, and have good follow through.
- Must work with limited direct supervision and be able to handle various tasks and functions.
- Must react calmly in emergency situations and demonstrate patience and compassion to senior adults.
- Must maintain a neat work area, well‑groomed appearance, and adhere to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles.
- High school diploma required.
- Current Food Handler’s Permit required.
- Training in Serv Safe beneficial.
- Desired:
One (1) year of food service experience including serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal prep.
- May lift or carry equipment or supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling/pushing, and extended walking and/or standing.
- May stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel or crouch when performing job duties.
- Must possess adequate sight and hearing to meet position responsibilities.
Pay range: $16.35 – $19.27 per hour.
