Role Description Howdy

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Home Care Provider. The Home Care Provider will assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication reminders. They will ensure a comfortable, safe living environment, provide companionship, and monitor their clients’ health and well-being. The role may also involve providing relief for family caregivers and reporting on the client’s condition to healthcare professionals as needed.

Location in Maryland depends on the client.

Duties
  • Assist with daily patient care activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates; accurately document findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinical

  • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs including Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, memory care units, behavioral health challenges, or those requiring hospice or palliative care.
  • Perform clinical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), wound dressing changes, and basic life support (BLS) when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols for infectious disease care and adhering to OSHA standards for patient safety.
  • Assist in medical documentation and medical records management with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers; participate in patient handoffs during shift changes.
  • Support patients across various healthcare environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, emergency departments (ER), urgent care centers, pediatric units (PICU), or home & community care settings.
  • Engage with patients with disabilities or juste developmental disabilities to promote independence and dignity through personalized caregiving approaches.
  • Use EMR/EHR systems efficiently to update patient information promptly and accurately while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Prior experience working რეჟიმ in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in critical care areas such as emergency medicine or trauma centers enhances your ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience with specialized populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ICU), behavioral health patients or those requiring dementia or Alzheimer’s care is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology fundamentals supports accurate patient assessment and documentation.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinical

    Works ensures seamless recordkeeping and communication within healthcare teams.
  • Previous experience in a caregiving or healthcare role is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and respond to clients’ needs with patience and professionalism.
