Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for healthcare transformation? Join our dynamic Programme Management Office (PMO) and play a pivotal role in delivering the Healthier Futures Programme at Leighton Hospital.

The Project Manager, within the PMO will play a pivotal role in delivering the Healthier Futures Programme by providing robust project management and governance support across all work streams. This position ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic objectives, while maintaining compliance with organisational standards and best practice.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community services for East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). Our services include planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care, child health, maternity, and intermediate care across Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. Through our community arm, Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership, we deliver extensive services in 26 medical centres and schools in collaboration with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS FT and the South Cheshire and Vale Royal GP Alliance.

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Oversee business case development to HM Treasury Green Book, NHSE, and NHP guidance standards.
• Monitor progress, respond to risks, and facilitate governance meetings.
• Produce high-quality reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders.
• Manage interdependencies across multiple projects and work streams.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
• Champion continuous improvement and best practice in project management.

• Educated to HND level or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in project or programme management within a PMO environment.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management, and assurance processes.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Better Business Case Foundation Certificate.
• Experience of managing suppliers, contractors, and consultants during the delivery of projects.
• Knowledge of healthcare transformation programmes or NHS projects.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
• Enthusiasm, drive and the ability to deliver to agreed timescales.
• Ability to act on own initiative and initiate actions.

• Must be willing to act as a role model.
• Must be willing to take personal responsibility.
