Are you interested in becoming a Clinical Support Worker (CSW) at Mid‑Cheshire Hospital Trust?
The role of the Clinical Support Worker is to support the delivery of high‑quality patient care by attending to aspects of patient personal hygiene, supporting patients to access appropriate nutrition, providing bowel and bladder care and maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times. The post holder will undertake a range of clinical care duties as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
Experience would be preferable due to the fast pace of the role, however training could be provided for the right applicant who shows the quality and skills required for patient care in a rewarding yet challenging environment.

Shift DetailsHours of work: 07:30 - 20:00 and 19:30 - 08:00.
Full time – 37.5 hours (3 x 12 hour shifts)
Part time – 24 hours (2 x 12 hour shifts)
Days/Nights/Weekends & Bank Holidays.

MCHFT provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care as well as child health, maternity services, and intermediate care across our sites at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.

- Assist patients in maintaining their personal hygiene, grooming and dressing needs with specific concern for their religious, cultural and personal preference, ensuring privacy and dignity at all times.
- Assist patients in gaining access to and in the use of appropriate toilet facilities. Measure and record body waste/fluid balance accurately.
- Ensure patients nutritional needs are met through assisting in the preparation of patients prior to meals and beverages, providing help and assistance in feeding/drinking as necessary.
- Appropriately record and monitor dietary intake of patients, informing relevant staff of progress and/or any difficulties relating to dietary/fluid intake.
- Undertakes a range of care duties (appendix
1) consistent with the Band 3 HCSW national AFC profile, delegated by a registered staff member, relevant to the services provided / work area. Care duties may include capillary blood glucose monitoring, pregnancy testing, urinalysis, ECG’s, removal of urinary catheters, wound management of non‑complex wounds / basic dressing, insertion and removal of venous cannula and venepuncture. - Assist patients in their mobility requirements, prepare the environment, move and position appropriately to maximise their physical comfort, utilising equipment trained…
