Position: Production Supervisor / Team Leader

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for supervisors on behalf of one of our well‑known Clients in the Crewe area.

Our client is a UK wide company specialising in the storage, distribution and management of packaging solutions for many lead retailers.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Depot Manager in meeting/exceed KPI targets.
  • Responsible for applying BRCGS requirements through the understanding of the Standard Operating Procedures, SSOW, prescribed templates and checklists.
  • As the HACCP Leader, ensure that all aspects of product quality, safety, security and legality are maintained within the operation through the prerequisite programmes and resulting control points and critical control points identified through the HACCP study.
  • Develop excellent relationships with customers, 3rd party and the supply chain.
  • Work with the Equipment Control Team to ensure that Asset Management protocols and procedures are accurately administered and maintained.
  • Ensure the Depot function effectively supports the implementation of HSE, Hygiene and HR policies/procedures.
  • Establish a positive and safe working environment – a good place for good people to work.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Have a confident and professional approach.
  • Be a conscientious and highly motivated self‑starter with a "can do" attitude and ability to prioritise.
  • Have a natural ability to inspire, lead and develop employees.
  • Previous work experience as a Supervisor in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Be able to produce Root Cause Analysis, complete a Risk Assessment and create an SSOW.
  • Have effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Inspire, influence, lead and develop the team to engage and deliver.
  • Work closely with other business functions, particularly Equipment Control, HSHE and HR.
  • Develop excellent relationships with suppliers, 3rd party and transport.
  • Deliver team briefings effectively and confidently.
  • Ensure deployment of HSE/Hygiene and HR policies and procedures.
  • Must be fully PC literate. FLT Counterbalance licences are desirable but not essential.
Working Hours & Pay

Working hours for this role are any 5 over 7 shifts per week covering all the following core hours:

  • 6 am‑2 pm – £15.55 per hour
  • 2 pm‑10 pm – £15.55 per hour
  • 10 pm‑6 am – £16.55 per hour

With enhanced rates for working any overtime after 37.5 hours (paid at time and a 1/3) and working any bank holidays paid at time and a half.

Contract & Application

This position is available with immediate starts, following a successful interview conducted on‑site. It is a temp‑to‑perm position, with a permanent contract offered to the right candidate after 12 consecutive weeks.
