Crestview Aerospace Overview
Crestview Aerospace is a manufacturing organization working closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and several others to deliver complex design-to-build and build-to print assemblies. Crestview Aerospace provides these assemblies in support of in-service platforms, such as: H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER.
Crestview Aerospace is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL, and employs approximately 300 professionals.
We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist LEU to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of precision machinery, including CNC milling machines, flatbed CNC gantries, Water Jets, Lathes, Bridge ports, and EZTRAC machines. Your expertise will be critical in producing high-quality parts and tools that meet strict engineering specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the machining process while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
PrincipalResponsibilities And Accountabilities
- Machining Setup and Operation:
Set up and operate a wide range of machinery, including CNC milling machines, lathes, Water Jets, and other precision equipment to fabricate parts, tools, and fixtures. - Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications, ensuring all machining processes align with design requirements. - Tooling and Setup:
Calculate and set offsets, change tools, and load/unload parts as required. Adjust feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters to ensure optimal machining performance. - Quality Control:
Perform first-piece inspections on parts to verify they meet required dimensions and specifications. Ensure parts are produced with high precision and quality by conducting regular checks throughout the process. - Assembly:
Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment, determining the materials, parts, and equipment required for assembly. - Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain a clean work area, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and safely. Perform routine checks to ensure optimal machine performance. - Collaboration:
Work closely with team members, engineers, and other departments to resolve any machining issues and to improve the overall machining process. - Compliance:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Technical certifications or relevant training in machining is a plus. - Experience:
At least 6 years of experience in operating CNC machines, with a strong background in precision machining and tooling. - Blueprint Interpretation:
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, mylars, and assembly drawings to ensure accuracy and quality in part production. - Measuring Equipment:
Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools such as dial calipers, micrometers, steel scales, and edge finders. Experience with HAAS, DMG Mori, and Okuma CNC Machines. - Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of machining practices, including calculating offsets, setting up tooling, and operating CNC machinery with a focus on high-quality output. - Shift Flexibility:
Ability to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and flexible hours, as required to meet production deadlines. - Confidentiality:
Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and proprietary data.

Physical RequirementsPrimarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes.
Must adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves as required. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
