Material Expediter

Job Description

This position performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. The role requires periodic work in the tool room and bench stock, with tasks segregated by commodity area or function. It involves individual case problems or supply actions, requiring consideration of program requirements and standardized guidelines.

The Material Expediter executes the following:

• Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of the plant to expedite processing of goods.
• Maintains records, checks tools in and out of the tool room, and manages inventory of aircraft tools, HAZMAT, test equipment, consumables, and expendables.
• Manages calibrated assets, orders and re‑orders, VMI management, bench stock management, purchase requests, and other related responsibilities.
• Inventorying kits for accuracy and managing parts and kits via the ERP system.
• Works with material planners to resolve discrepancies and maintains HAZMAT management.
• Maintains inventory and control of controlled access areas, work order management and accountability.
• Other related tasks and responsibilities.
• Receives parts (SAP & GOLD, TCMAX), warehouses parts, ships parts as needed, receives and issues tooling, HAZMAT, consumables, parts/material.
• Controls inventory, maintains HAZMAT, calibration schedules, and equipment inspection schedules in accordance with AS9100.
• Assists with PSA and HAZMAT reconciliation.
• Assists with tours, staging parts, and giving overviews of all functions in the storage area during tours.
• Works with Logistics Management Analysts to prioritize requirements.
• Posts work in process transactions in GOLD to capture movement of parts between storage areas and repair shops as needed.

• 2 years’ experience working in a Logistics / Supply Warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of DoD Supply Chain Processes and procedures and company practice.
• Knowledge of DoD Logistics terminology.
• Ability to obtain a 10K forklift certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software programs to research, develop and create documents.
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance; the candidate must be a US citizen.
• Inventory management experience.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft parts or tools.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Team player.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.

• DoD supply processes.
• TCMAX experience.
• SAP experience.
• Logistics experience with the DoD.
• Air Force ES-S System Air Force Logistics experience.
• Familiarity with Fedlog / Webflis.
• Logistics Shipping / Receiving experience.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced maintenance environment.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
