Overnight Support Worker

Overview

ANKORS is seeking compassionate staff to join our team at the new Emergency Winter Response Shelter, located at Trinity United Church in Creston. The shelter operates during extreme cold events (–7°C or colder, as determined by Environment Canada) and will be open overnight on qualifying nights. The shelter provides a safe, warm indoor space for vulnerable individuals to rest and sleep from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., based on availability.

Experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred; however, training will be provided to the right candidates.

• Operate Emergency Winter Response Shelter during qualifying nights when temperatures reach –7°C or colder (Environment Canada determination).
• Provide a safe, warm indoor space for vulnerable individuals to rest and sleep from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., based on availability.
• Support staff needs; training will be provided to the right candidates.

• Compassionate, non-judgmental approach.
• Ability to work with vulnerable populations.
• Emergency First Aid certification is an asset; training can be arranged if needed.
