  • Has strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Is comfortable with hands‑on work
  • Has an interest in sustainable agriculture and local food systems
  • Is willing to learn and grow new business and sales opportunities as the project develops

Business or sales experience is an asset, but not required. What matters most is initiative, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Duties

Fields Forward Society is launching an exciting new chapter in local food production and we’re looking for the right person to grow it with us.

This summer, we will be installing a state-of-the-art Hydroponic Vertical Growing Modular Farm capable of producing approximately 10,000 pounds of fresh produce annually. This innovative Growcer system delivers reliable, consistent yields year-round and will play a key role in strengthening local food security in our community.

This is a brand-new project, and we are seeking a motivated, positive, and business-minded individual to take on the role of Hydroponic Vertical Farm Manager.

About the Role

This is more than a growing job — it’s a startup opportunity within a mission-driven organization.

The Hydroponic Vertical Farm Manager will be involved from the ground up, including:

  • Assisting with installation and setup of the modular farm unit
  • Completing the mandatory Growcer Training Course (provided by Fields Forward Society)
  • Managing crop production (seeding, transplanting, monitoring, harvesting)
  • Maintaining equipment and growing systems
  • Tracking yields and growth cycles
  • Coordinating packaging and distribution
  • Helping identify, develop, and grow new sales opportunities as production expands

Everything from startup, growing, maintenance, and market growth will be part of this dynamic role.

Growth Potential

This position begins at 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility depending on operational needs.

As production stabilizes and sales channels expand, there is potential for:

  • Increased hours
  • Expanded responsibilities
  • The opportunity to combine this role with the Food Hub Operations Manager position for the right candidate

This is an opportunity to grow professionally while helping grow fresh, local food for our community.

If you’re ready to build something meaningful from the ground up, we want to hear from you.
