Our client is a family owned and operated company. They are a modern trucking company, blending old‑school trucking with digital technology. The company has been in business since 2016 and services customers in retail, food, and e‑commerce industries, including Fortune 500 corporations, and currently operates over 200 units of equipment.
Our client is a transportation company servicing 48 states and operating out of three terminals in Philadelphia, PA, California, and headquartered in Chicago, IL and specializes in truckload, less‑than‑truckload, and expedited services.
This company is a premier third‑party logistics provider and logistics management company delivering above‑industry service along with cost‑saving transportation solutions throughout North America. They are Canadian authorized and Haz Mat certified, and have a newly developed brokerage division.
Director of Brokerage Sales & OperationsJob Type: Full‑time / Hybrid
Responsibilities- Build out the brokerage division through ambitious sales tactics and provide operational support to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Prospect for and identify new customers for the company’s brokerage.
- Identify customer pain points and offer logistics solutions to add value to their business.
- Negotiate rates with customers to fit their needs and drive profitability for the company.
- Inspire and lead direct reports (currently two: one Customer Sales and one Carrier Sales Representative) to provide exceptional service and promote the company’s value.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for brokerage and asset‑based operations, including ideation and implementation of new processes.
- Identify workforce needs, conduct interviews, and make hiring decisions to benefit the future of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
- 7‑10+ years of related industry sales and operations experience.
- 7+ years of proven success leading a team.
- Subject matter expert in the 3PL/brokerage space.
- Prior Haz Mat & Pharmaceuticals experience/exposure is preferred.
- Current knowledge of industry and market trends.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and flexibility to adapt to market conditions.
- Driven and self‑motivated individual with a sales hunter mentality.
- Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills — oral, written, and over the phone.
- Polished and professional individual who is a fierce negotiator and a natural leader.
- Embraces change, brings innovative ideas, and has demonstrated capability to implement strategies and grow a brokerage organization.
This position offers a competitive base salary + commission.
