- Level I: $2,430.96 - $2,680.14 bi-weekly
- Level II: $2,554.02 - $2,815.81 bi-weekly
The County of Del Norte Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Branch, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Health Education Coordinator I/II. This position is classified as full-time.
Under general direction from the Health Division Program Manager or designee performs on-site tasks associated with program coordination and supervision of assigned staff; performs administrative and analytical work related to state and federal funding. This position requires administrative level experience associated with a wide variety of responsible functions without direct supervision except as new or unusual circumstances require.

Responsibilities- Coordinates the County Health Education Program and activities.
- Develops and executes short and long term goals associated with the health education program.
- Assures compliance with all applicable state and federal guidelines as they relate to the operation of health education programs.
- Administers the program by performing tasks such as research, analysis, report writing, staff scheduling, etc.
- Represents the program at various local and regional meetings involving matters pertinent to health education services.
- Determines the resources necessary to ensure appropriate and effective services.
- Performs additional administrative duties as may be assigned or required.
- Monitors programs for evaluation purposes and provides administrative support for ongoing quality assurance.
- Collects, analyzes and maintains program data for the preparation and updating of various program operational reports as necessary for compliance with state, federal and/or departmental guidelines.
- Plans, organizes and coordinates the work of assigned staff including conducting yearly performance evaluation, providing training on an ongoing basis, approving staff requests for time off and schedule changes, etc.
- Provides direct services and/or schedule coverage for client services as needed.
- Works in conjunction with departmental staff in the preparation and presentation of various community workshops regarding health education services.
- Participates and assists in the planning, development and implementation of a school and community based health education program.

Level I:
Education:
Equivalent to graduation with a high school diploma supplemented with college coursework in public health, education or a closely related field.
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience in a health education or disease prevention program.
Level II:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social science, public health, education or closely related field is preferred.
