Job Title: MET Technician
Salary:
Up to £50,000 + time saved bonus
Full-Time and Permanent – Monday to Friday –8.00am-5.30pm
Our client is an automotive retailer representing prestigiouscar Brands, they have a total of 30 businesses providing sales, service, andaccident repair services across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, and Hampshire.
Established in 1931, they are a successful and progressivethird-generation family-owned business.
They are now actively looking to recruit a MET Technician fortheir Accident Repair Centre Bodyshop in Crawley.
The role of the Bodyshop
MET Technician is to:
- Accurately and skilfullyundertake the removal and replacement of mechanical, electrical and trimitems on motor vehicles. Detect and diagnose any additional faultsfor further repairs.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer and industryguidelines.
- Ensure the highest standard of repairs are carried out to the manufacturer’s specification,specifically relating to fitting and trimming. Detect and diagnoseany additional faults for further repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard the customervehicle and its contents while in the workshop.
- Seek clarification in theevent a work order is unclear or seems incorrect.
- Observe, recognise andreport on vehicle structure where necessary. Includes any/all faultsor defects detected while working on the vehicle. Report any additional damage found when stripping the vehicle.
- Report accurately andcorrectly all components, materials, consumables and hours used on eachvehicle repair, keeping wastage of all material and consumables to aminimum and placing orders for replacement parts. Keep work areaclean, tidy and free from hazards.
- Interpret and implementtechnical instruction data.
- Ensure alignment equipment is used accurately on all repairs.
- Carry out all repairsaccording to best practice procedures. Complete assigned jobs with the estimated repair times. Meet acceptable safety and quality standards.
- Check the condition andensure the correct maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials.
- Undertake all other tasksand activities as requested by the Bodyshop Manager.
Candidates must have previous experience as an MET Technicianwithin a Bodyshop environment, ideal candidates will be ATA qualified.
Candidates must have a full and valid driving licence.
